By the end of 2001, the acquisition of IR.D.S. (INFRA RED DRYING SYSTEMS) in Belgium was a further step to serve the paper makers in the domain of complete coating sections, with high-technology products, reliable components to assure the high quality of coated products at reduced cost.

The infrared elements of IR.D.S. have found a worldwide recognition in a growing market. And with its ability to adapt its emitter to replace most of the existing competition, IR.D.S. is the ideal choice to keep maintenance cost low.

By the end of 2002, ABK Group has also shown how important was energy conservation and environmental sustainability with its acquisition of M.D.S., MADELEINE DRYING SOLUTIONS near Lille in Northern France, M.D.S. being the major French builder of paper machine hoods, ventilation systems, air-through dryers, heat exchangers, economizers and components for the paper machine such as vacuum rolls for coating sections and pockets ventilation systems. The company M.D.S. has the expertise to undertake technical audit of existing paper mills in order to propose technical solutions for energy savings.
