For complete OMC delivery, ABK proposes different technologies of unwinding stations from single scissors to Turret types with the flying splice being either up or down. ABK also has primary arms and secondary arms assisted or center wind pope reels. These hydraulic pope reels have bump less transfer from the primary to the secondary arms. The reeling curves can also be programmed by the operators. ABK’s reel technology is basically the same as their calender technology. The arm movements are perfectly synchronized. |
There are no liaison torque bars between the secondary arms. CPT (Couple, Pressure and Tension) being the top of the line, where the reel spools translate and it is the reel drums that moves in a vertically plane. All elements are driven, reels, spools and reel drum.

ABK’s reeler technology is basically the same as their calender technology: the arm movements are perfectly synchronized and there are no liaison torque bars between the secondary arms. WINDERS

The high speed winders of type ABK H.S.1 is of heavy design. It is of modular construction with the following items: unwind, sheet feeding, slitting units (MD slitting) and wind-up with fixed or articulated rider roll, winder drums being individually driven and having various options such as grooved or soft depending on the position. Cores can be inserted manually or automatically. Sheet can be ejected with tail end glued. |
Moreover, the visibility of the paper on machine is optimized to make easier the operators’ work and the access of the maintenance personnel.
Finally, the ABK control system, PLC based, completely controls all equipment and phases from wind-up parameters to stop length or diameter function and final ejection. Slitting can be with an auto-trim feature which automatically repositions all the slitters in case of reel set changes.
